Ana Sofía Barrows (ASB), CCIP

Principal Consultant

Ana Sofía Barrows, CCIP (she/her) is an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategist with 8 years of experience building inclusive practices in academic, regulatory, and corporate environments. She holds a Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional (CCIP) designation and has a multidisciplinary educational background in Medical Physics, where she focused her research on MCNP6 modelling of the prompt secondary radionuclide production in proton therapy; Social Justice Education, where she has focus her studies on Indigenous Studies and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in the Sciences; and Leadership and Inclusion.

She is the Senior Manager, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. In her spare time, she loves supporting STEM organizations in developing strategic approaches for greater inclusion which she does as an independent consultant.

She has led multiple initiatives focused on advancing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in STEM, such as bringing the first SoapBox Science to North America and managing the first three symposiums on EDI in STEM at the Canadian Science Policy Conference and has spoken about the importance of inclusion in multiple channels such as CBC's On the Money, CBC radio, and multiple conferences and panels.

Ana Sofia is the co-author of the article, So, you want to host an inclusive and accessible conference? published in FACETS Journal, and she has written for publications such as the Canadian Science Policy Centre, and Latinos Magazine.

In addition to this work, Ana Sofia is an instructor at the Rotman School of Management’s executive program Inclusion by Design, where she teaches Human-centred Design Thinking, and in the Public Sector Directors Leadership Program, where she teaches EDI in Organizations, and at Rotman Commerce, where she teaches the upper year undergraduate course RSM 362: Leading Across Differences.

Brenda Rodriguez

Brenda Rodriguez is a Professional Dancer, Teacher, and Videographer. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus in Dance and is currently studying to obtain her diploma in Television and Film Production. 

She is passionate and dedicated to providing more inclusivity and diversity in the creative arts industry, as well as in the field of child education.
